I am bursting with excitement because I have signed 30 reps and can live my dreams now.
As part of Power 90 I am going to journal or blog about how I recurited 30 reps to sell pest control in 90 days. For some background on me I started selling pest control in the summer of 2010 in Dallas, Texas and over the summer I sold 316 accounts which generated me about $40,000. This was awesome for me because I was able to get married and support my wife. We were able to get out of debt, buy a 4-Plex, pay off my car, buy a road bike and an engagement ring. It was a dream come true. The next year I thought I needed an internship to graduate so I put the pest control thing on the back burners. I was offered a sweet internship with Balfour Beatty Construction in California for the summer. I was supper excited for that opportunity. Before going I wanted to make sure going into construction was really what I wanted to do so I interviewed with some construction companies and job shadowed with a Layton Construction project manager. I spent the whole work day with him and other employees on the job sight and got a good look at the field I was going into. After what I saw I realized that I would be a slave to the CEO and VP. After talking with my dad and mission president, Craig Burton, and deeply thinking about it I decide that eventually becoming a project manager for a construction company wasn't what I wanted to do. I decided to commit to pest control because I know I can make enough money doing that to get me where I really want to be in 5 to 10 years. Two months before the summer I committed to selling again. I tried to recruit as many guys as I could in those months but I ended up with just 2 and one of them went home after a week of selling. I wanted to at least recruit 5 and ended up with just one really good one, Riley Fitzgerald. Over the summer I sold 309 in Phoenix, Arizona and co-team lead with Brian Swindlehurst, Johnathan Miller and Matt Bean. I still made over $50,000 but it was well under what I wanted to make.

This year is going to be different I want to do this for the next 10 plus years so the sooner I can get some good team leaders under me the sooner I will be able to make some big money. So far I have recruited 5 reps that are going to do great so I am off to a good start. My goal is I want to have 30 or more reps finish the summer. This will put me off to a huge start and will set me up with a great base for building my region. From achieving this goal I will make around $160,000 next year.
I went to Power of Choice by Outlook and learned a lot of cool things and great tools that will push me forward in life and my career. They have another program called Power 90, it is where you set a huge 90 day goal and work to achieve it. You meet once per week and they have a system of acceptability and training to help you achieve your goal. At first I was thinking that I really didn't need to do Power 90 because I am already happy and satisfied with my life. Then talking to Jessica I realized that I could do Power 90 to recruit. That is actually what I thought was that I would do it if I was starting a business or setting a huge financial goal. As I thought about it I thought that this would help me reach my recruiting goal and that would be a huge financial gain to me. Also, I would be able to teach my team all these great things I was learning to help them achieve their summer goals. Why not? I have nothing to lose. Even if I get one recruit I will make my $1500 back. Deciding to do Power 90 got me excited because now I know I will be able to reach my recruiting goal and that will set me up for the rest of my life financially.
My 90 day goal is to recruit 30 reps to sell pest control. That goal in my affirmation is...
I am bursting with excitement because I have signed 30 reps and can live my dreams now.
That is my goal and I don't know totally how it is going to happen but I do know that I will achieve it because I know I can do anything I really set my mind to and put enough time into. Plus I will have all this help from Power 90 and the support team I create.
I am totally pumped.
