Ropes course was awesome. Going into ropes course I didn't know exactly what to expect. I had just heard of several obstacles my dad talked about. First thing we got together and talked about what we wanted to get from ropes course. I decided I wanted to get rid of hesitation and replace it with passion. After all ropes course is the week training of risk.
The first activity was traffic jam. As a team we had to figure out how to get out of the traffic jam. There were rules we had to follow and from their we learned through trial and error how to solve the traffic jam. Through the process we learned the steps to solving a problem. Those are first, just try something, do something. Next analyze what went worked and what didn't. Find a system that works through analyzing, trial and error. Last is to work on efficiency once a system is found figure out how to make the system work better and more efficient. Take action, recognize a pattern and create efficiency are the steps to solving problems.
The next activity was the dragon's lair. We were all stuck on a golden platform and had 20 min before the dragon to return to swing to another platform and once all of us were safely there it would wisk us away to a land of fluffy bunnies. The platform would only leave if all 12 of us were on the platform. I was chosen the leader of this exercise and figured out how to get the rope by tying some scarfs together with a shoe on the end. It worked great. One important detail was we were surrounded by dragon poo. Dragon poo is extremely acidic. If anyone touched it they would immediately vaporize. If any one died we all died. One person was swinging across and fell into the dragon poo and was vaporized. Learning from our mistake, luckily a magic wizard named Jamie came by and resurrected her but cut off my hand and blinded Sauria. We then learned the key lesson. Guarantee my success. What do I have to do to guarantee my success? After learning that we were extra cautious and did whatever we had to do to guarantee our success. This lesson hit home to me. I will always succeed if I will do what it takes to guarantee my success. In recruiting 30 reps. I have to get 90 meetings to guarantee my success. In whatever I do I can guarantee my success.
The next obstacle was the swing of death. I was the first one to go and before I let go of the rope I committed to following up with 20 people because that is what is holding me back right now. I have met with a bunch of people already but now I need to follow up and get second appointments to further them along in their decision process. The swing was a huge thrill. I did some backflips and it was exhilarating.
After lunch we were behind enemy lines and had to get over a massive wall to escape to freedom.
